Are you a Nigerian who needs to travel out of the country as soon as possible? If you are reading this, I am quite sure a “YES” is the answer to this question.
At some point in life, you might want to leave the country for whatsoever reason and you might even have a limited time to do so.
Unfortunately, our expectations get cut off as most embassies take a decade to issue us a visa. This happens most of the time.
Now, you might want to consider travelling to a country which does not require a visa. Unfortunately, you might not know which country accepts Nigerian immigrants without a visa, hence your search.
There are over 20 countries where Nigerian immigrants can travel to without having a visa. These countries are called Visa free countries. I will certainly be mentioning all these countries here in this article.

Reasons for Immigration/Emigration
There are various reasons for migration into a country, of which we will consider just three of them in this context. They include:
- Tourism/holiday/visit
- Business; and
- Transit.
The above listed reasons will be used to determine if you, as a Nigerian must be issued a Visa to enter specific countries.
However, rather than adopting the “visa free” migration policy, a number of countries adopt the “Visa on arrival” policy. That is, you get to be issued a visa on arrival at your destination country.
Further, most countries which adopt this policy do not have embassies in the departure country (Nigeria in this case).
But we won’t be going into full details about such countries, as our primary focus is on “Visa free countries for Nigerians”.
On the other hand, most countries do not require at all for Nigerian immigrants, this is where we are going to elaborate upon. This particular feature is adopted by a number of countries, a greater percent of which are ECOWAS countries.
Since, Nigeria also belongs to the Economic Community Of West African States(ECOWAS), there is no need for visa before/on arrival into other countries in the body.
However, to travel to other ECOWAS countries as a Nigerian immigrant, you must possess an international passport and the ECOWAS passport/ECOWAS travel certificate.
